The consistent work

Simon’s career has moved through broadcasting, investigative journalism, universities, real estate, PropTech and health technology. Across those environments, the work has stayed remarkably consistent: understand the information an organisation needs to move, build the system that carries it and make it reach the people who need it.
That work sits between disciplines. A publishing decision affects search. A product model affects acquisition. A design system affects the content operation behind it. A platform migration changes what an organisation can know about itself. Simon works at those connections, where a decision made in one part of the organisation becomes a delivery consequence somewhere else.

What he has carried
Simon has led large publishing networks, search and acquisition programs, automated content and advertising systems, semantic and information architecture, and high-volume digital platforms. The work has included newsroom distribution, national education networks, property lead generation, programmatic publishing and digital health.
The practice now

Simon runs Soma Cipher Frameworks Company from Johor Bahru, working directly with organisations and behind Singapore agencies. SCFC helps when a website has become an unmanaged publishing system, a migration has more dependencies than the proposal allowed for, or a commercial promise requires technical responsibility nobody has yet assigned.
He personally leads diagnosis, architecture, critical implementation and technical direction. Where specialist production is required, he works with the existing team or brings in the appropriate capability around the agreed job. The difficult decisions remain owned, documented and carried through delivery.
